Bollywood legend Govinda faced a harrowing ordeal this morning when an accidental discharge from his licensed revolver resulted in a bullet striking his leg at his Juhu residence in Mumbai. Rushed to Criticare Hospital, the 60-year-old actor Govinda underwent an extensive hour-long surgery to extract the bullet and address the leg injury.

According to Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, the incident unfolded as the actor prepared to depart for a show in Kolkata with a scheduled 6 am flight. “We had a 6 am flight to catch, and Govinda ji was about to leave his residence when this accident happened,” Sinha recounted.
After learning of the mishap, Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, who was in Kolkata then, promptly returned to Mumbai. The actor’s daughter, Tina Ahuja, also hurried to the hospital to be by her father’s side.

Govinda accidentally dropped his licensed revolver while trying to stow it inside a cupboard. As a result, the firearm discharged, and the bullet hit Govinda’s leg just below the knee.

Dr. Ramesh Agarwal, the attending surgeon, confirmed the successful extraction of the bullet and the stabilization of Govinda’s condition. The actor is expected to remain hospitalized for three to four days, requiring around a month of rest.
